Reminders help you return on time

Get e-mail reminders to let you know you have something due back soon, overdue, or ready to pick up. Just add your e-mail address to your account information online, or call 217/403–2000 and we’ll do it for you. If there are several library card holders in your family, consider using Library ELF, which lets you monitor all of your library use at once.

Please Keep in Mind…

We cannot guarantee the reliability of e-mail. You are still responsible for knowing when items are due. We recommend that you call us or check your account online for the best information. Any interruption in e-mail reminder service, either from the library account system or ELF (details below), does not excuse patrons from fees if items are returned late.

Customized E-mail Notices: Library ELF

Library ELF is an independent service that lets you get e-mail notices as early and as often as you‘d like. ELF also shows you a handy calendar of your due dates. Use it to:

  • Get due date reminders whenever you want them (for example, get a notice a week before an item is due, then every day after that)
  • Set up your hold notices the way you want them (for example, to get more frequent reminders that you have something to pick up)
  • Get cell phone text messages
  • Review information for all of your family‘s library cards at once

To Sign Up for Library ELF

Follow the instructions on the ELF website. Enter your Champaign library card number and your library account PIN.

Important Note: Library ELF is not affiliated with Illinois Heartland Library System or the Champaign Public Library. Use ELF at your own option and risk. ELF users must submit personal information, including their library card number and PIN. Please read the ELF privacy policy and FAQ before signing up.
