My Night

So, allow me to sum up one heck of a night I had on campus. A close friend and I decided to go ice skating one night. So we like, went to the ice arena and paid our seven dollars and got our skates. We laced them up and got all ready to go.

So we get out there and our ankles are like really weak and we can barely skate at all because it‘s been like nearly a year since either one of us has been on the ice, so we sit down. And we‘re like talking and we were toying with the idea of just going to a cafe a few blocks away to go get something to eat and just chill until my mom comes to get us. And we decide to do it. I know plenty of people on campus and we know where we‘re going, so we decide to go.

When we get out of the ice arena, it‘s like, raining. And I‘m like “let‘s go back inside and just sit.“ But of course we‘ve already turned our skates in and left the place, so unless we pay more money to get back in that‘s not gonna happen. So we like decide to go ahead with the plan.

We walk about 6 blocks and get to a café. And we‘re like wet and shivering. I order coffee right away, and we‘re really jittery and stuff from being cold and the clerk behind the counter is like “ok, who let the crazies in my coffee shop.“ So we sit at a table and we‘re laughing like we‘re mentally demented. And my phone clock says it‘s 9:13. So we have to get back to the ice arena so we don‘t get in major trouble. And what‘s more, it‘s raining harder. Great, just great.

So we run 6 straight blocks and we get there. But it ends up my phone clock was fast and it‘s really just turning 9:00. So my friend calls up a friend who, by the way, lives in Seattle, Washington, and asks him what we should do, and she got, like bad reception right? I mean it‘s raining, hello. So he says something about finding a thrift store and doing something. Whatever.

So we were starting to panic. Nowhere to go, barely any money, no car, and no ride for another half an hour. So we wait in the rain for like ten minutes because my friend is being stupid, like she always is and I like, finally say, “dude, let‘s go inside or whatever.“ And I call my dad and say “come get us, cause we want to go home, cause it‘s like raining dude,“ then I realize I just called my dad “dude.“ And he‘s like “I‘m not a dude,“ and I‘m like “whatever“ and he‘s like “I‘ll be there soon.“ And at like 9:48 he comes and he‘s like “I got lost” and for the first time in my life I‘ve never been so happy to see my dad.

So yeah, one heck of a night, huh?
