Volunteers & Friends
Both groups help the library. What’s the difference?
There are two ways to give your time to the library: be a volunteeror join the Friendsof the Champaign Public Library. What’s the difference?
Volunteers help with the day-to-day operation of the library. The library’s volunteer coordinator matches their skills to tasks that need to be done.
Friends of the Champaign Public Library coordinate special events and fundraising activities such as book sales. Friends sort donated books and work at the sales, among other activities. Sometimes they lend a hand at special library programs. They also host events for their members that are just for fun. Members pay a small annual fee to be in the Friends.
Some people are members of the Friends and library volunteers, too!
