Volunteering at Your Library
As a library volunteer, you’ll be helping to provide everyone in our community with life-enriching experiences. Well over 300 volunteers play an important part in the success of this busy, popular library. Volunteering for the library can be very rewarding. You’ll benefit by:
- Working in a friendly environment
- Meeting new and interesting people
- Achieving a feeling of accomplishment
- Learning about the library and all its resources
- Gaining new skills
Volunteers must be at least 16 years of age. Those aged 16 or 17 need a signed waiver from a parent/guardian.
Help is needed with all kinds of tasks, some simple and some more technical, some helping the public and some behind the scenes.
See who helped us at the library last year (then tell them thank you, too).
The CU Volunteer site lists our current volunteer needs. Select “Opportunities”, "Advanced Search" and choose “Champaign Public Library.”
How to Apply
Complete a volunteer application form. We will match your abilities with our needs.
