Read Me a Future: Baby Book Giveaway
We give the parents of every child born in Champaign-Urbana a very special gift: the gift of reading.
To encourage parents to read to their babies early and often, the library gives each newborn’s family a free packet with:
- a board book to read to your baby
- our own Read Me a Future booklet of tips on how to read to babies and toddlers
- a Baby Boogie CD of catchy tunes for tots; produced by the library, the CD features top-notch local talent and was a 2005 Parents’ Choice Approved Award Winner
- a book dedication form so we can dedicate a book in our children’s department to each new baby in town
Packets are distributed through Carle Foundation and Provena Covenant hospitals. The Friends of the Champaign Public Library generously support the program.
For more information about the program, contact the library’s Development Director Donna Pittman at 217/403-2048 or dpittman@champaign.org.
