The Champaign Public Library and The Urbana Free Library have jointly created the new CU Catalog, which you’ll use to search for materials from the two libraries. The new catalog launched on December 8.

Catalog/My Account Links Have Changed

If you have bookmarks to our old catalog, or the account login page, these will no longer work. Please create new bookmarks. Also note that links to the catalog or your account from previous library e-mails, newsletters, etc., will no longer work.

Please Return Our Items in Champaign-Urbana

To be sure you don't miss your due date, please return our items to the Champaign or Urbana library. If you return them to another library, they will not be checked in until they reach the library that owns them.

My MediaMall Changes

To find My MediaMall downloads in the new catalog, click on the blue bar that says "Download EBooks & Audiobooks," and you'll see a My MediaMall link under that. Note: You will now choose "Champaign Public Library" as your library, rather than Illinois Heartland.

Can I still borrow from other libraries?

Yes, you can borrow from other libraries in the Illinois Heartland Library System, and across the country. Click on the "Search Other Catalogs" link in the catalog and use Worldcat.

Notes for Patrons Residing Outside Champaign-Urbana

Limit of 2 Items
Patrons with library cards from outside Champaign-Urbana may have 2 items checked out from our library at any given time. This limit is based on a new policy set by the Library Board of Trustees in November.

Need to Register Your Card
We’ll need to enter your home library card information into our new catalog database. On your first visit to us (or the Urbana library) after Dec. 8, please take your current card and a photo ID to the Checkout Desk.

Return Champaign Items in Champaign
To be sure you don’t miss your due date, please return Champaign items at our library. If you return them to a library outside Champaign-Urbana, they won’t be checked in until they reach us. Also, our library will not be able to check in items from libraries outside CU. We suggest returning those to your home library, or the library they belong to.

Change to Request Procedure
Requests for Champaign items must now be made through your home library.
