Lifelong Learners: A Century of the Chinese in CU 10:00 AM—11:00 AMLifelong Learners @ the Library offers monthly talks on a variety of topics. This month, Dr. Ian Wang will give an illustrated presentation highlighting the more than 100-year-long history of the Chinese in CU and at the U of I. Dr. Wang is a curator for the Spurlock Museum and serves on the museum's board of directors. He has written a history of U of I museums and has researched the links between the Chinese community and the Krannert Art Museum's Asian Art Gallery. He is also a columnist for the News-Gazette's Rantoul Press and a 40 North board member. Is Your Car Ready for Summer?6:30 PM—7:30 PMBring your car and be ready to get under the hood at this hands-on program. Derek Scroggins, Ford City service manager, will discuss how to help your car through the stress of summer. Parts Manager Mark Shepherd will answer questions about parts and supplies. A technician will be available to look at your car and give you specific pointers. You'll also learn how to use the library's online Automobile Reference Center to get step-by-step instructions for nearly any procedure, plus wiring diagrams, maintenance specifications - all the information you need to keep your car in tip-top shape. Look for designated parking on the west side of the library lot.
