Cardiovascular Pulmonary Resuscitation (CPR)

Description: The Champaign Fire Department provides CPR/APD training in a four-hour course that is recommended for day care providers, teachers, coaches, lifeguards, police, and security guards. The course teaches adult, child, and infant CPR, obstructed airways techniques, and Automated External Defibrillator (AED). Completion of the course culminates in a two-year AHA certification and costs $40.

In 2007, the days and times for the program are Tuesdays from 6–10pm and Saturdays from 8am-12pm. The specific dates are Tuesdays: January 9, March 6, May 8, July 17, September 11 and Saturdays: February 10, April 7, June 2, and August 11.

Additional Group Courses
Courses tailored for your group are available upon request. The requesting party will provide six or more students. Classes are conducted at the fire station.

Health Care Provider CPR: six hour course for health care professionals, infant, child, adult, and adult-two person CPR, culminates in a 2-year AHA certification card. Training is scheduled for Saturday, April 7th, 8am-2pm. Costs: $51. Also available with private scheduling. The requesting party will provide six or more students. Classes are held at the Fire Station.

Community First Aid: four hour course, first aid fundamentals and rescue techniques are covered, cost: $30.

Heartsaver FACTS: Eight hour course in: First Aid/ CPR/ AED, Adult CPR, Foreign body airway obstruction, First aid for acute and sudden injuries, and Automated external defibrillation use. Cost: $60.00
