New library construction timeline

Our new library opened January 6, 2008.

  • August 15, 2005 – Work on the new south entrance and temporary south parking lot started
  • September 1, 2005 - Groundbreaking Celebration more
  • November 1, 2005 – New south entrance, parking lot opened
  • November 2005 – Construction of the new library began
  • January 2006 – Auditorium removed
  • December 9, 2007 – Last day of service in old library
  • Mid-December, 2007 – Demolition of old library starts
  • January 6, 2008 – New library opens
  • Summer 2008 – Completion of the final steps, removing the old library, then finishing the parking lot and landscaping
