A 3-Way Partnership

Creating the new library has been a three-way partnership of the Library Board of Trustees, the Library Foundation Board of Directors, and the City of Champaign. The bulk of the project’s $28.3 million cost is being funded by a portion of the city’s local home rule sales tax and telephone tax. The Library Foundation has raised $3 million in private pledges and gifts for the building.
