September Student Book Giveaway

Students of every age are invited to pick out a free book this month at the FriendShop! We’ll also have a $1 Tag Bag Sale on Sep. 27 and 28. Read more about the shop or browse the FriendShop’s online selection.

Step into our light-filled, open spaces and see our wonderful Peter Sís murals, colorful TeenSpace, quiet meeting rooms,  Latte Da! Cafe, and FriendShop used book store. The library, at 200 W. Green St., is open weekdays 9-9; Saturdays 9-6; Sundays 1-6. Read more.

Douglass Branch Library

Our Douglass Branch Library, on the edge of Douglass Park, is open Monday to Thursday 10 am to 8 pm; Fridays 10 am to 6 pm; and Saturdays 10 am to 4 pm. Stop in for a great selection of books, DVDs, and CDs, plus friendly service, free Internet access, and public meeting space.

Tree-mendous Readers! Fall Reading Game

Our Fall Reading Game is for infants through grade 5. After 25 days of reading, kids can enter our monthly prize drawing. Sep. 2 – Dec. 15. Sign up and get reading!

Use eBooks for Homework Help

Looking for a good book for your homework assignment? Try our online resource Virtual Reference Library (via Infotrac), where you'll find hundreds of reference eBooks organized by subject. Log in with your Champaign library card and you’ll see a list of databases. Click on the words “Gale Virtual Reference Library,” type in your keywords, and see your results.

Mobile Printing Offered at the Library

Now you can send a print job to our library from your mobile device anytime the library is open (Main Library or Douglass Branch). Just come in to pick up your print job by closing time that same day. If you have an Apple device, get the free PrinterOn app to print at our library and thousands of other locations. On Sun., Sep. 7, at 2 pm, this husband-and-wife due bring classic and contemporary blues, featuring soulful harmonies and solos inspired by blues greats like Ma Rainey and Bessie Smith. Read more.
